TDLR Architectural Barriers - Plan Review Services
Buildings subject to compliance with the Texas Accessibility Standards and with a construction cost in excess of $50,000 must be registered with Architectural Barriers for review. Documents must be submitted for review to ACI within 5 business days after the design professional issues the construction documents ( AB Rule 68.50 ). Please note the definition of "issue".
Issue: To mail, deliver, transmit, or otherwise release plans or specifications to an owner, lessee, contractor, subcontractor, or any other person acting for an owner or lessee for the purpose of construction, applying for a building permit, or obtaining regulator y approval after such plans have been sealed by an architect, interior designer, landscape architect, or engineer. In the case of a state-funded or other public works project, it is the time at which plans or specifications are publicly posted for bids, after such plans or specifications have been sealed by an architect, interior designer, landscape architect, or engineer.
Plan Review Checklist: All items must be ready prior to submitting for review.
Completed TDLR Architectural Barriers Project Registration Form [ ONLINE REGISTRATION ] or[ DOWNLOAD ], signed by the Owner or the Owner's Agent (requires a completed DESIGNATED AGENT FORM signed by the owner).
Design Professionals Only: Proof of Submission Form to be sent to TDLR [ DOWNLOAD] RAS: #67, Henry R. Hermis, Jr.
One complete set of construction documents for all disciplines.
Check or money order payable to American Construction Investigations, LTD (ACI, Ltd.).
ACI offers free pick-up for plan reviews from anywhere in the continental United States (free pick-up is not available for revisions). Please call 713/864-8494 when all of the above items are ready for pick-up. If a request is made after 1:00PM, the pick-up will be made the following day, but the project will be logged in the day of the request.
